1. The operator

Trade Rent A Car Kft. (Trade Rent A Car Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság, a Hungarian limited liability company) operates Trade Rent.

2. Booking

Web booking takes three steps: dates, car, details. You can correct your details at any time before pressing “Confirm booking” or “Pay and confirm booking”. We confirm the booking by email.

The car is held for the dates you pick. Overlaps are blocked.

With online payment, the booking becomes final once the payment succeeds; if the payment is cancelled or fails, no booking is made and the car is released.

Same-day pick-up cannot be booked online: message us on WhatsApp and, once agreed, we send you a payment link.

The rental contract is signed on site at handover; the draft contract can be read in advance via the link in the confirmation email.

3. Fees, payment, deposit

The daily rate includes 200 km/day, a national vignette and third-party liability insurance (MTPL).

Airport pick-up is HUF 5,000; home delivery in Budapest is HUF 10,000 — added at booking.

The rental fee can be paid (a) online by card when you book, on Teya's secure payment page, or (b) on site by card at pick-up. We do not accept cash.

The deposit differs per car; the amount is shown on each car page and in the FAQ. The deposit is secured at pick-up with a card in the renter's name. Prepaid and virtual prepaid cards are not accepted.

Refunds of fees paid online (e.g. on cancellation under section 6) go back to the card used for payment.

Extra km, delay and child seat are charged from the list. Extra driver: HUF 3,000 / day.

Fuel: return at the same level as at pick-up. Shortfall is charged at the current OMV list price nearest our depot, plus a HUF 5,000 surcharge.

If the car is returned dirtier than at pick-up, cleaning is HUF 9,900–19,900 depending on soiling and car type.

4. Pick-up and use

Bring a Latin-script ID and a valid driving licence.

Only the named driver may drive. No racing, tuition, paid passenger transport or sub-hire.

Abroad only with prior written consent (cross-border authorisation): Austria, Slovakia, Czechia, Croatia, Slovenia. The Hungarian vignette is included; foreign vignettes, tolls and fines are yours.

No smoking in the car. Breach: HUF 100,000 net penalty, which may be taken from the deposit.

Cars have GPS tracking (position, km, speed, fuel level — see the privacy notice). Driving above 160 km/h triggers a penalty equal to the deposit (the deposit is forfeited).

5. Damage, liability

The rate includes compulsory third-party liability insurance (MTPL), which covers damage caused to third parties.

During the rental the renter is liable under the Hungarian Civil Code for damage to the vehicle caused by the renter (or by anyone the renter lets drive), and for loss of the vehicle, and must compensate such damage in full.

The deposit secures damage and other claims under the contract: Trade Rent may deduct damage from the deposit, and the renter must pay any damage exceeding the deposit separately. The deposit amount does not cap the renter's liability.

After an accident, theft or wildlife damage call the police and Trade Rent at once.

Fines, penalties, tolls and parking fees are yours. Trade Rent may charge HUF 20,000 admin for handling such matters.

6. Cancellation, withdrawal

Cancel by email or WhatsApp. Cancellation fees are calculated from the rental fee:

Cancelling more than 5 days before the pick-up date is free of charge.

Cancelling within 5 days before pick-up (but not on the pick-up day) costs 50% of the total rental fee.

Cancelling on the pick-up day, or not showing up, costs 100% of the first day's rental fee plus 50% of the fee for the remaining days.

If you paid online, we refund the amount less the cancellation fee; for on-site payment Trade Rent invoices the cancellation fee.

Please note: under Section 29(1)(l) of Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to car rental contracts for a specific date or period. Cancellations follow the cancellation terms above.

7. Return

Return the car on time, to the same place, in the same condition. Delay continues the daily rate.

8. Complaints and dispute resolution

You can make a complaint orally (by phone: +36 70 321 7800) or in writing (rent@traderent.hu, or by post to our seat: 2230 Gyömrő, Dózsa György út 137.). We remedy oral complaints on the spot where possible; otherwise we record them in writing. We reply to written complaints in substance, in writing, within 30 days.

If we reject your complaint or it is not resolved, as a consumer you may turn to the conciliation board of your place of residence or stay. The board competent for Trade Rent's seat is the Pest County Conciliation Board (Pest Vármegyei Békéltető Testület, operated by the Pest County and Érd Chamber of Commerce and Industry), 1055 Budapest, Balassi Bálint u. 25. You may also turn to the consumer protection authority (the government office of your county / Budapest) or to the courts.

9. Governing law

Hungarian law applies. If language versions differ, the Hungarian text prevails.
